Norman Brennan / Founder

Norman Brennan joined the British Transport Police in 1978. During a 31-year career, he received nine commendations for bravery and outstanding police work. He was seriously assaulted many times in the line of duty and on two occasions he was fortunate to survive.

Following these experiences, he raised several thousand pounds for charities, headed influential national campaigns to improve police protection and established the Victims of Crime Trust. The charity provided a wide range of support for hundreds of families, many of whom were involved in high-profile murder and manslaughter cases.

He is regularly invited onto mainstream television and radio panels to talk about issues concerning the police and victims of crime.

Colin Sutton / Trustee

Colin held the rank of detective chief inspector for 15 years in three different police forces. He was a senior investigating officer in the Metropolitan Police from 2003 to 2011. During this time, he led more than 30 successful murder investigations, including that of Levi Bellfield. Since retirement he has conducted investigations in the private and public sector and commented on high-profile crimes, including Madeleine McCann, Tia Sharp, April Jones, Stephen Lawrence and Millie Dowler, for a number of different media outlets.

Harry Stephenson / Trustee

Harry served with Durham Constabulary for over thirty years reaching the rank of detective superintendent. During his service he successfully investigated 29 offences of murder. He was commended on 15 occasions by judges, coroners, magistrates and chief constables for his outstanding leadership, professionalism and investigative skills and abilities. Harry has significant experience in all aspects of dealing with the media at a national and local level.

Kevin Hurley / Trustee

Kevin Hurley served in the Metropolitan Police from 1979 to 2011, reaching the rank of detective chief superintendant. From 2001 to 2005, he was the Head of the Counter Terrorism and Public Order Department for the City of London Police. He also served in the Territorial Army, and was the Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner between 2012 and 2016. He has received several commendations for leadership, detective ability and restraint in violent disorder. He is now NATO's Senior Police Advisor to Afghanistan.
